Connect Valta to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor
Valta runs as an MCP server at https://valta.si/mcp. You add it once to each AI you use, and from then on they all read and write the same vault. Connect every AI you use: sharing one vault between them is the point.
Claude (web and desktop)
Claude signs in to Valta, so there’s no key to copy.
- Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Valta and paste
https://valta.si/mcpas the URL. - Click Connect, sign in to Valta and choose Allow.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT also signs in to Valta.
- Open Plugins in the sidebar and click + in the top right to add a custom MCP server. In older versions it’s under Settings → Connectors, and developer mode may need to be on for your plan.
- Name it Valta, leave Connection on Server URL, paste
https://valta.si/mcpand keep Authentication on OAuth. - Sign in to Valta and choose Allow.
Claude Code
Create a key in Valta under Connect, then run once in a terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http valta https://valta.si/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"
Cursor and VS Code
Create a key in Valta, then add this block to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (Cursor) or .vscode/mcp.json (VS Code):
{ "mcpServers": { "valta": { "url": "https://valta.si/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_KEY" } } } }
Use one key per computer or app, so you can revoke one without touching the others.
One connector per vault
If you keep several vaults, for example one per brand, the main URL opens all of them and your AI asks which one when it isn’t clear. To keep a vault fully apart, use its own connector URL, like https://valta.si/mcp/juniper-lane. An AI connected that way only sees that vault. It fits well inside a Claude Project for that brand.
Your first test
Start a new chat in one AI and say:
Save to Valta: my first note. I keep ideas here so every AI I use can find them.
Then open a different AI and ask it to find that note. If it comes back, you’re set. Every call shows up under Usage in your account, with the AI that made it.
